It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Liberty Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Boyd Yellowjackets 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won 16 contests in a row.

Evan Wells was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Quinton Brown also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Liberty Christian pushed their record up to 30-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Boyd, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-5.
