Volleyball Recap: Effingham County Rebels vs. South Effingham Mustangs
Effingham County entered their match against South Effingham on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Rebels fell 2-0 to the Mustangs. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
While Effingham County ultimately came up short, they really made South Effingham work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 26-24.
Effingham County's offense was headlined by Clarissa Salcido and Ka'Meil Bates, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Charlotte Shearouse and her four assists.
Leading South Effingham to victory were Jada Hill and Lauren Olson. Hill had 12 digs, while Olson had eight digs. Those 12 digs gave Hill a new career-high.
