Basketball Recap: Sequoyah Comes Up Short

Sequoyah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 71-27 loss at the hands of the Rhea County Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 153rd).

Sequoyah's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Rhea County, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequoyah won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sequoyah is facing Seymour at the right time seeing as Seymour is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Rhea County has already played their next match (against Walker Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
