Softball Recap: Forbes Road Takes a Loss

Forbes Road extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost 27-12 to the Southern Fulton Indians. Forbes Road was not able to make up for their defeat to Southern Fulton from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Gretchen Flemming made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Ginnah Kendall, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Southern Fulton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.8 runs.

On Southern Fulton's side, Lakyin Hixson was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Hixson a new career-high. Chloe McCusker was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
