Softball Preview: Hancock Eagles vs. Reavis Rams

The Hancock Eagles will stay at home for another game and welcome the Reavis Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hancock will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

On Wednesday, Hancock made easy work of Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park and carried off an 18-8 victory.

Isabella Garcia and Hannah Scuito did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles, while Scuito went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Aaliyah Solis was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Reavis got themselves on the board against Kennedy on Wednesday, but Kennedy never followed suit. They blew past the Crusaders 15-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for Reavis.

Lily Fish made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Fish has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive pitching appearances. Fish was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, a triple, and an RBI.

In other batting news, Juliana Chalupa was incredible, going 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Welsh, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hancock's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Reavis, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.
