After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bloom, Argo was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Clemente Wildcats as Argo made off with a 13-5 win. The Argonauts' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Valente Melero was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Melero was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.
In other batting news, Cristo Fernandez and Daniel Padilla did most of the damage at the plate: Fernandez scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Padilla scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. What's more, Fernandez posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Dennis Gaytan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
