Baseball Recap: Fallston Gets the Win

Fallston had won three straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped up to 4-3 to make it four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the North Harford Hawks 7-5. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Fallston got a great performance from Ryan Cullison as he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Garrett Kersch was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Zach Loewe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for North Harford, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 22, 2025.

On North Harford's side, Colin Kight was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double. Kight has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nate Lynn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Coming up, Fallston will face off against Gerstell Academy on Friday. As for North Harford, they will square off against Rising Sun at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
