Basketball Recap: Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Starts off Right with Win over Northeast Academy

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against Northeast Academy by a score of 53-41. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Liverman, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Liverman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Byrum, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 13 points and six boards.

Northeast Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Camden White, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points. Braden Lassiter was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Coming up, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Mount Calvary Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeast Academy, they have already played their next game, a 55-39 loss against Trinity Christian on the 15th.
