Soccer Game Preview: Kent Denver vs. The Classical Academy

Kent Denver has won four straight games at home, while The Classical Academy has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Sun Devils will welcome the Titans at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kent Denver is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let St. Mary's Academy get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Kent Denver's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

They hit St. Mary's Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lexi Morgan (2), Quincy Essary, and Margeaux Lindley.

Meanwhile, The Classical Academy hasn't lost a match since April 26th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They put the hurt on Eagle Ridge Academy with a sharp 3-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering The Classical Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Eagle Ridge Academy are ranked 86th).

The Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 68 goals over those ten games. As for Kent Denver, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.

Kent Denver beat The Classical Academy by a goal when the teams last played back in April, winning 1-0. Do the Sun Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
