Volleyball Recap: Covington's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of four wins, Covington's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Mandeville Skippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Skippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Covington took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-17.

Mandeville was led to victory by Alyssa Gaudet and Julia Marengo. Gaudet had ten digs and two assists, while Marengo had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Marengo has posted since back in September.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 12-22. As for Mandeville, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Covington is set to take on their familiar foe Hammond at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mandeville will face off against rival Fontainebleau at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
