Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Roosevelt's Third in Last Four Outings

Roosevelt barely beat Highland Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Teddies never let the Scots get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Teddies needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Bryce Williams was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact: Roosevelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Highland Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.

Coming up, Roosevelt will head out to challenge Minneapolis South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Teddies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Highland Park, they will be playing at home against Simley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
