Basketball Recap: Craig Clark's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chestertown Christian Academy over Greenwood Mennonite

Chestertown Christian Academy's game on Saturday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Greenwood Mennonite Flames by a score of 49-47. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Flames this season, with their most recent defeat being a 48-42 loss two weeks ago.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Craig Clark, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Clark a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of John Stoltzfus, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Clark wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Chestertown Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up six more assists than Greenwood Mennonite's also-impressive total of 11.

Greenwood Mennonite was led to victory by Carter Long and Jude Harrison. Long went 10-for-25 en route to 25 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Harrison dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Long has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Blake Mast was another key player, putting up seven points.

Chestertown Christian Academy now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Greenwood Mennonite, the win keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

As of now, neither Chestertown Christian Academy nor Greenwood Mennonite have any future games scheduled.
