Baseball Recap: Paso Robles Takes a Loss

Paso Robles lost against Atascadero back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Paso Robles fell just short of Atascadero by a score of 5-4. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emmett Dobroth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Soboleski, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Paso Robles hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Paso Robles' defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Atascadero, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Paso Robles and Atascadero could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Paso Robles will challenge Clovis West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 570 places (686 vs. 116). Meanwhile, Atascadero (ranked 330th) will meet Kingsburg (ranked 146th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
