Basketball Recap: Van Comes Up Short

Van was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Tug Valley Panthers, falling 75-14. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-3.

Despite the loss, Van still got an impressive performance from Hailey Tackett, who posted nine points.

Tug Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Messer led the charge by going 6 for 8 en route to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Deskins, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 16 points and four steals.

Van's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Tug Valley, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Van will head out to take on Sherman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tug Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
