Baseball Game Preview: Elsinore Tigers vs. San Jacinto Tigers

Elsinore will face off against San Jacinto at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elsinore will be strutting in after a victory while San Jacinto will be coming in after a defeat.

Elsinore's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over West Valley. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

Jacob Farias was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Elsinore got a big performance out of Andrew Jimenez, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brody Boyd, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Elsinore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, San Jacinto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 11-5 to Schurr.

San Jacinto's defeat dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Elsinore, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

Elsinore took their win against San Jacinto when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 11-0 score. Does Elsinore have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Jacinto turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
