It was fun while it lasted, but Kingstree's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Friday. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marion Swamp Foxes. The loss put an end to the Blazers' undefeated start to the season.

Naydia Shaw and Kamarie McCrea certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Shaw dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards, while McCrea posted eight points and three steals. Shaw is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Even though they lost, Kingstree smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Kingstree fell to 6-1. As for Marion, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingstree and Andrews will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Marion, they and Dillon will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Dillon will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Marion surely won't give up without a fight.
