Basketball Recap: Saint Francis Takes a Loss

Saint Francis lost against Archbishop Mitty back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Saint Francis Lancers fell 61-52 to the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Monarchs are ranked 85th).

Saint Francis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Archbishop Mitty, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saint Francis has already played their next game (against Bellarmine College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Archbishop Mitty will square off against Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Mitty has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
