Softball Recap: West Hills Takes a Loss

West Hills had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 10-6-1 to make it five. They fell just short of the Imperial Tigers by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolf Pack have suffered since March 8th.

Kristina Deal was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Ava Goodman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

As for Imperial, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Imperial's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalia Espinoza, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Espinoza a new career-high. Addison Clark was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

West Hills didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-3 defeat against Mira Mesa on the 19th. As for Imperial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-8 loss against San Marcos on the 10th.
