Basketball Recap: Colt Fowler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead James F. Byrnes over Dorman

If James F. Byrnes was feeling good fresh off their 88-65 takedown of Spartanburg last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The James F. Byrnes Rebels received a blow on Friday as they fell 76-57 to the Dorman Cavaliers. That makes it the first time this season the Rebels have let down their home crowd.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colt Fowler, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists. Fowler is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now racked up eight or more in the last 15 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Fabian McClintock, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, James F. Byrnes fell to 23-1. As for Dorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
