Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. Chapin Eagles
Dutch Fork is 8-2 against Chapin since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes will head out on the road to face off against the Chapin Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Dutch Fork and five for Chapin.
Last Saturday, Dutch Fork lost to White Knoll on the road by a decisive 47-31 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dutch Fork has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jake Bogan, who scored six points along with three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jayden Walker, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chapin pushed their score all the way to 61 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lexington. While losing is never fun, Chapin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Lexington is ranked third).
Dutch Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Chapin, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Dutch Fork beat Chapin 52-41 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Does Dutch Fork have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chapin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
