Basketball Game Preview: Carrollton Hawks vs. Southwestern Piasa Birds

Two dominant guards in Lauren Flowers and Vivian Zurheide are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Carrollton Hawks will square off against the Southwestern Piasa Birds at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Carrollton is headed into Saturday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They fell 60-51 to Brown County on Monday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southwestern, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 35-19 victory over Lincolnwood last Saturday.

The win got Southwestern back to even at 6-6. As for Carrollton, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Everything came up roses for Carrollton against Southwestern when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 59-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carrollton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
