Volleyball Recap: Spring Lake Lakers vs. Hamilton Hawkeyes
Spring Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Hamilton Hawkeyes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawkeyes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
Lauren Meigs paced Spring Lake's offense, picking up eight kills. Meigs got some help from Rileigh Fortuna and her 13 assists. Selah Kobylak controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Spring Lake's loss dropped their record down to 7-13-2. As for Hamilton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8-1 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Spring Lake will face off against rival Zeeland West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hamilton is set to challenge their familiar foe Holland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
