Solanco dropped their record down to 16-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's 16-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Penn Manor Comets by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Golden Mules were not able to get on the board.

Kira Roark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bella Carey was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple.

As for Penn Manor, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On Penn Manor's side, the result came thanks to Juleigh Bowmaster's shutout, as she gave up just eight hits and racked up six Ks.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Solanco will square off against Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Mules are facing the Cedars at the right time seeing as the Cedars are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Penn Manor, they will take on Hempfield at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
