Basketball Recap: Pope John Paul II Snags 11th Victory in Last 12 Games

Pope John Paul II won the last time they faced Brentwood Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pope John Paul II Knights enjoyed a cozy 67-53 win over the Brentwood Academy Eagles. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Eagles are ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pope John Paul II's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamden Days, who went 11 of 15 on his way to 28 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Days a new career-high in points. Trey Pearson was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 12 points along with eight assists and six boards.

Pope John Paul II has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Brentwood Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Pope John Paul II has already played their next match, a 74-40 victory against Christ Presbyterian Academy on the 15th. As for Brentwood Academy, they will face off against Lipscomb Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
