Basketball Recap: Dollar Bay Comes Up Short

If Dollar Bay was riding high fresh off their 63-33 takedown of Watersmeet last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dollar Bay Bays were outmatched by the Baraga Vikings and fell 45-16. While losing is never fun, the Bays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while the Vikings are ranked 191st).

Despite the loss, Dollar Bay still got an impressive performance from Evelyn Moilanen, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Baraga found their leader in sophomore Cara Connor, who earned four points and 11 boards.

Dollar Bay has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Baraga, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dollar Bay will square off against Lake Linden-Hubbell at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Baraga, they will host Chassell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
