Softball Recap: 24 Straight Home Victories for Anacoco

Anacoco had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Elizabeth Bulldogs as they made off with a 15-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 12 matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Anacoco let Brooklyn Bryant and Raylee Mitchell run wild. Bryant went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Mitchell fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Mitchell has posted over her last nine games. Another player making a difference was Ava Davis, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Anacoco always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elizabeth only posted an OBP of .400.

Anacoco pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average this season. As for Elizabeth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anacoco will face off against Grace Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
