Martin County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 159 points over their last three matchups.
Martin County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past First Flight to the tune of 63-0. Considering the Gators have won four games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Da'Brion Wilson-Hudgins went supernova, rushing for 91 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Jayden Moore also helped with two scores in total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Martin County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 357 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Martin County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kamarion Larry and Moore. Moore got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Pasquotank County and Hertford County were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Pasquotank County suffered a 26-25 loss. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Harris and Ayden Everette. Everette had a great game and rushed for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Meanwhile, Harris was balling out in the loss, rushing for 90 yards and one TD.
Pasquotank County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Martin County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Martin County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 314 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pasquotank County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 242.3 rushing yards.
