Baseball Recap: Lawrence County Wildcats vs. Giles County Bobcats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Loretto, Lawrence County was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Giles County Bobcats by a score of 7-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lawrence County also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.

Logan Clayton looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Bedford, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kaden Short, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

On Giles County's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Kilpatrick, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and a triple.

Lawrence County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. As for Giles County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-21.
