New Dimensions takes loss despite strong efforts from Jeriel Martinez and Blake Ferrante

Recap: New Dimensions vs. Faith Christian Lions

New Dimensions fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Faith Christian Lions on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 61-59. New Dimensions has struggled against Faith Christian recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, New Dimensions had strong showings from Blake Ferrante, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, and Jeriel Martinez, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Martinez scored a full 28.8% of New Dimensions' points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jeremiah Carrasquillo was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Leading Faith Christian to victory were Brandon Rivera and Jaelen Spellman. Rivera scored 17 points, while Spellman scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Owen Yeung, who scored six points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

New Dimensions' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Faith Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

New Dimensions and Four Corners will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Faith Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gateway at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th. Gateway is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
