Baseball Recap: Northland Christian Drops Season-High Score on St. Francis Episcopal

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northland Christian). They had just enough and edged out the St. Francis Episcopal Wolves 4-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Northland Christian got a great performance from Luke Edmonds as he struck out 15 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave Edmonds a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Tyler Bienko was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cy Taylor also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Northland Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-5-1. As for St. Francis Episcopal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Northland Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
