Archbishop McCarthy hadn't done well against Belen Jesuit recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mavericks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolverines, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Wolverines back in March, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Nick Castillo paced Archbishop McCarthy's offense, picking up 25 kills. Castillo got some help from Stephen Blakely and his 25 assists. Castillo was also a major player on defense: he and he shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Archbishop McCarthy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12. As for Belen Jesuit, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
