Jon Carlos Lampas-Gormley gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in February on Friday. He was dynamite, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Key West is 7-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8 otherwise.

Lampas-Gormley's strong effort led Key West over Miami and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Conchs are a perfect 3-0 against the Stingarees going back to April of 2023, a lead they'll look to extend.
