Basketball Recap: Maricopa Institute of Technology Takes a Loss

Maricopa Institute of Technology was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 66-49 fall against the Harvest Prep Academy Eagle. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Maricopa Institute of Technology this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-36 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harvest Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lashawn Barron, who went 8 of 20 en route to 22 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Barron is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was KJ Legette, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 22 boards.

Maricopa Institute of Technology's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Harvest Prep Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Maricopa Institute of Technology does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harvest Prep Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge BASIS - Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvest Prep Academy is facing BASIS - Peoria at the right time seeing as BASIS - Peoria is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
