Soccer Game Preview: Christian vs. Canyon Hills

The Christian Patriots will take on the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lincoln just ended the team's four-game winning streak back in December of 2024. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2. The loss was the Patriots' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Canyon Hills kept a clean sheet against El Capitan on Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 2-0 victory over the Vaqueros. Given the Rattlers 's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Vaqueros are ranked 623rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jacob Wiebe was the driving force of Canyon Hills' attack as he scored both of Canyon Hills' goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Canyon Hills' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three games. As for Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1-1.
