Baseball Recap: South Plaquemines Beats West Jefferson for Their Third Straight Victory

South Plaquemines had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Jefferson Buccaneers a 15-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hurricanes also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Rod Parker was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, South Plaquemines got a massive performance out of Collin Vong, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1. What's more, Vong posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Juan St. Ann was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

South Plaquemines always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

South Plaquemines' win bumped their record up to 3-1.
