            Softball Recap: Sun Valley Spartans vs. Marvin Ridge Mavericks        
        
		
        
        
            Sun Valley extended their losing streak  to three  on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They came up short against  the Marvin Ridge Mavericks, falling  20-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  14-4  back in March.
As for Marvin Ridge, the  victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six  runs or more this season.
For Marvin Ridge's part,  Anna Phifer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Phifer has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  run and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Lexi Kirby, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, seven  RBI,  and three  runs. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Hannah Ziecik, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Sun Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  13-8  loss against Porter Ridge on the 16th. As for Marvin Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  6-0  defeat against Weddington on the 17th.
