Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Russell). Everything went their way against the East Carter Raiders on Tuesday as they made off with a 9-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Russell needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Their offense was hitting East Carter from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lily Ervin led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Russell's victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for East Carter, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Coming up, Russell will square off against Bluegrass United at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Carter, they will take on St. Joseph Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
