Baseball Recap: Ashley Ridge Takes a Loss

Sumter hit Ashley Ridge with a four-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Swamp Foxes fell 8-3 to the Gamecocks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Gamecocks this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-3 defeat on Tuesday.

Ashley Ridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremiah Alford, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Jackson Christopher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ashley Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Sumter, they pushed their record up to 15-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
