Basketball Recap: Jonesville Comets vs. Columbia Central Golden Eagles

Jonesville easily dispatched Homer last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Jonesville Comets fell just short of the Columbia Central Golden Eagles by a score of 51-48 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-53 back in January.

Columbia Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabrielle Gaydosh out in front who went 8-for-19 on her way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Leelyn Brown, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 11 points and six rebounds.

Jonesville's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Columbia Central, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jonesville will welcome Lumen Christi Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbia Central, they will face off against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th.
