Basketball Recap: Castle View Falls Despite Big Games from Michael Weyand and Javier Hernandez + How To Watch

Castle View lost against Grandview back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sabercats might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Wolves an easy 78-56 victory. The Sabercats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-22.

Javier Hernandez and Michael Weyand certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hernandez shot 50% from the field en route to 15 points and five rebounds, while Weyand posted ten points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Hernandez now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Blake Hanchett, who put up six points.

Castle View now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Grandview, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Castle View will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eaglecrest at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Grandview, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mountain Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
