Basketball Recap: Locust Fork Piles Up the Points Against Appalachian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jasper, Locust Fork was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-44 win over the Appalachian Eagles. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Locust Fork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jahmad Jackson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 assists. Those 12 assists gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi White, who went 5 for 11 en route to 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Locust Fork has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Appalachian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Locust Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-58 victory against Pennington on the 20th. Appalachian has also already played their next matchup, a 73-41 win against Jefferson Christian Academy on the 23rd.
