North Stanly had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 3-0 to make it seven. They enjoyed a cozy 60-44 victory over the Union Academy Cardinals. For the Comets, this counts as revenge for the 60-27 win the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Stanly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexie Brown, who posted 17 points. Shy'Mani Baskins was another key player, putting up 16 points.

As for Union Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3. On the bright side, the 44- point effort marked their highest-scoring game to date.

Union Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amy Thomas, who earned 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Hildreth, who scored 14 points.

North Stanly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-40 victory against Montgomery Central on the 26th. As for Union Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 69-31 win against Anson on the 26th.
