Recap: West Tallahatchie Choctaws vs. Clarksdale Wildcats
The West Tallahatchie Choctaws lost against the Clarksdale Wildcats back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The game between both teams wasn't particularly close, with West Tallahatchie falling 57-39. They have struggled against Clarksdale recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
West Tallahatchie's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reginald Walker, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jamarria Bailey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
West Tallahatchie's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Clarksdale, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Tallahatchie will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Delta at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Clarksdale will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Forest Hill at 6:00 p.m. on December 26th. Forest Hill has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25.
