Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Santa Fe nor Columbia made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Raiders fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Raiders have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Cohen Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Santa Fe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Doria, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Santa Fe's record is now 8-16. As for Columbia, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-10.

Coming up, Santa Fe will head out to take on Suwannee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia, they will challenge Ridgeview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
