League recap: Lincoln cracks Rhode Island's top 25 rankings

Division I - North league recap: 5/29/12

With a big week, Lincoln jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. Lincoln moved up from No. 28 in the state all the way to No. 19 thanks to a 3-1 record over the past week. Led by manager Ed Hunt, the Lions are ranked No. 7738 in the nation with an overall record of 10-11.

With a rough week, Mount St. Charles Academy dropped out of the state's top 25 rankings. Mount St. Charles Academy fell from No. 24 to No. 28 after going 0-1 over the past week. The Mounties are ranked No. 9078 in the nation, and have an overall record of 7-11.

La Salle Academy's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only four hits and eight walks, both of which led the league. The Rams have given up a mere 95 hits on the year, while striking out 139 opposing hitters. Caleb Gardner is the leader in that category with 41 Ks on the season.

Jon Lapolla had a multi-hit game on Tuesday, when he went 4-4 in Cumberland's 4-2 win against La Salle Academy. He also drove in three runners.
