Volleyball Recap: Stonebridge Picks Up 24th Consecutive Win

StoneBridge strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Broadwater Academy Vikings. The Cavaliers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: StoneBridge took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13, 25-6.

StoneBridge was led to victory by Lauren Bickley and Nyah Beckwith. Bickley had six aces and three digs, while Beckwith had five aces. Those five aces gave Beckwith a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: StoneBridge was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

StoneBridge's record is now 24-0. As for Broadwater Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Coming up, StoneBridge will square off against Portsmouth Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Broadwater Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Hampton Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
