Celeste's victory bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Sam Rayburn, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7.

Sam Rayburn took their win against Celeste when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 43-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sam Rayburn since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
