Basketball Recap: Bard Early College Takes a Loss

Bard Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Streetsboro Rockets and fell 68-11. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 791st, while the Rockets are ranked 74th).

Leading Streetsboro to victory were Naomi Benson and Olivia Johnson-Wilson. Benson made all 7 shots she took to post 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Johnson-Wilson went 7-for-9 to rack up 14 points and four steals. Benson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Claire Campbell was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Bard Early College's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Streetsboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Bard Early College does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Streetsboro, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-11 victory against Shaw on the 18th.
