Volleyball Preview: Pacheco Panthers vs. Lathrop Spartans        
        
		
             Pacheco hasn't had much luck against Lathrop recently, but that could start to change  on Wednesday. The Pacheco Panthers will be playing at home against the Lathrop Spartans  at 6:30  p.m. The two teams are strolling into their  contests after big wins in their previous games.
 Having struggled with three  defeats in a row, Pacheco finally turned things around against Livingston  on Monday. Everything went their way against the Wolves as they made off with  a  3-0 victory.
 While Pacheco might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Livingston scored at least 16 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-6,  25-16.
 Pacheco's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Graciela Welker, who  had four  digs and four  aces. That's the most  aces  Welker has posted since back in September.
 Meanwhile, Lathrop had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They blew past the Patriots 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  win the Spartans have posted  against the Patriots since October 8, 2019.
 Lathrop was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12,  25-19.
 Lathrop can attribute much of their success to   Ayden Petroff, who  had six  aces and a  block, and   Justine Mabutas, who  had 19  digs. Petroff is also crushing it when it comes to  assists: she's   posted at least 14 every time she's  taken the court this season.
 Lathrop  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 13  aces. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 0  aces per game earlier this season, but in their last five matches they've averaged 17.8.
 Pacheco pushed their record up to 7-17 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. As for Lathrop, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record  this season.
