Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lexi Vanderlei and Jordyn Voigt Lead Avon to Victory

Avon won the last time they faced Vermillion and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pirates came out on top against the Tanagers by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Avon was led to victory by Jordyn Voigt and Lexi Vanderlei. Voigt had 15 digs and two assists, while Vanderlei had five digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Vanderlei a new career-high.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Vermillion, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Avon has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Beresford on the 20th. As for Vermillion, they will head out to square off against Yankton on Monday.
